One thing the Iowa GOP caucus proved to me is that the Republican Party is searching for its soul. Only four democrat candidates managed any numbers while the rest of the field fell below 1%. In the GOP 5 candidates were in double figures. Clearly the party lacks direction and will not likely energize itself to put up much of a fight for the general election.
Back to bed...I need the rest. More later.

I agree with you. However, part of the reason that only 4 Dems got votes is due to the way they organize their caucuses. In a Democrat caucus everyone has to declare who they are voting for and get into groups for each candidate. If a group does not have a certain percentage of people in the room then they get disbanded (disenfranchised) and do not get to vote for their candidate. The other, larger groups are then allowed to win those people over to their groups for more votes for their candidate. So it's easy for a lesser known candidate to get no votes at all.
Republicans vote by secret ballot and just count all the votes.
